Prices in euros from Amazon.de, as of 11 June 2026. Prices and availability may differ on Amazon.co.uk.

Whether first flat of your own, office, hobby room or bedroom: a mini fridge keeps drinks and provisions cold without needing a fitted kitchen. We compared six appliances, from the single fridge with a real freezer compartment through the compact fridge-freezer and the stylish retro mini to the nearly silent thermoelectric unit for the bedroom. Sorted by capacity, freezer compartment, energy efficiency, noise and technology. All listed on Amazon.de, from €68. Since a fridge runs 24/7, a look at the energy efficiency class is especially worthwhile.

⌗ Detailed reviews

Every model in detail.

Which mini fridge suits your room, your needs and your noise requirement.

01 · Single pick
⌗ Comfee RCD80WH3 countertop fridge
Household appliances > Fridges

Comfee RCD80WH3 countertop fridge

The balanced single fridge: 80 litres with a real 12-litre freezer compartment for frozen food, which the small units do not offer. The inverter compressor runs quietly at 39 dB and more economically than its predecessors (110 kWh/year). At 84.5 cm it fits under many worktops, with a reversible door hinge. For most single households the best compromise.

02 · Retro & price
⌗ Klarstein Audrey Mini retro fridge
Household appliances > Fridges

Klarstein Audrey Mini retro fridge

The style and budget pick: 50s retro design with chrome handle and LED light, in many colours, and the cheapest in the comparison. 32 litres for drinks and snacks plus a small 5 L ice compartment. A real compressor unit, not a weak evaporative cooler. For kitchen, living room or office.

03 · Largest · freezer section
⌗ Exquisit KGC590-30 fridge-freezer
Household appliances > Fridges

Exquisit KGC590-30 fridge-freezer

The only real fridge-freezer: 85 litres with a separate 24-litre freezer section (own door, 4 stars, −18 °C) in which you can freeze permanently, not just ice cubes. Slim enough (47.5 cm) for the kitchen run, with a reversible door hinge. Honestly: with EEK E and about 166 kWh/year the thirstiest, and the premium is only worth it if you really need the freezer section.

04 · Drinks · quiet
⌗ Bomann KB 7346 drinks fridge
Household appliances > Fridges

Bomann KB 7346 drinks fridge

The no-nonsense drinks and office fridge: 42 litres of pure cooling space without a freezer compartment, but with auto-defrost (no defrosting) and the best efficiency class in the comparison (EEK D, about 80 kWh). Quiet at 39 dB, compact at 51 cm, refrigerant R600a. If you do not freeze, you get more usable space, lower consumption and less maintenance here.

05 · Compact entry
⌗ Bomann KB 7245 countertop fridge
Household appliances > Fridges

Bomann KB 7245 countertop fridge

The especially low countertop fridge: only 51 cm high, fits under low worktops and in shelves, and still brings a small 4-litre freezer compartment that many flat units leave out. 45 litres for the basic single need, quiet at 39 dB, reversible door hinge. A solid, compact brand entry from Bomann.

06 · Quietest
⌗ Klarstein Silent Cool 30 L
Household appliances > Fridges

Klarstein Silent Cool 30 L

For absolute calm in the bedroom: thermoelectric Peltier technology without compressor and without vibration, just a quiet fan at 27 dB, the quietest in the comparison. 30 litres behind a glass door, adjustable 5 to 15 °C. Two honest catches: it only cools relative to room temperature (weaker on hot days) and is actually rated EEK G (the "A+" in the marketing is outdated).

⌗ Buying advice

Which mini fridge suits you?

What size should a mini fridge be?

By use: as a drinks or second fridge, 30 to 45 L is enough (Klarstein Audrey, Bomann KB 7346). For a single household as the main fridge, 80 L makes sense (Comfee). If you also want to freeze permanently, you need a fridge-freezer with a large freezer section (Exquisit, 24 L).

Which mini fridge is quietest, for the bedroom?

The quietest is the thermoelectric Klarstein Silent Cool at 27 dB: no compressor, no vibration, just a quiet fan. It only cools relative to room temperature, however. Among the compressor units, 39 dB (Comfee, Bomann, Audrey) is standard and tolerable for most rooms. Rule of thumb: bedroom → thermoelectric (quiet), cold drinks → compressor.

How much power does a mini fridge use?

Depending on size and efficiency class, 60 to 170 kWh per year, so at about 35 ct/kWh (the German electricity price) around €20 to €60. Since the appliance runs 24/7, the energy efficiency class is especially important: the most economical in the comparison is the Bomann KB 7346 (EEK D). Watch out with the thermoelectric Silent Cool: actually EEK G, and despite being "quiet" the highest consumption.

Thermoelectric or compressor: which is better?

A compressor fridge actively cools to a fixed temperature (cold even in high summer), but has audible cycling and vibration. A thermoelectric unit (Peltier) is nearly silent and vibration-free, but only cools a few degrees below room temperature and needs more power. For real cooling and efficiency: compressor. For absolute calm in the bedroom: thermoelectric.

Mini fridge with or without a freezer compartment?

With a freezer compartment you can make ice cubes and store frozen food. The size decides: a small ice/freezer compartment (4 to 12 L, Audrey/Bomann KB 7245/Comfee) is enough for ice cubes and a few items (defrost manually), a real freezer section (24 L, Exquisit) for a stock. Without a freezer compartment (Bomann KB 7346) you get more cooling space, lower consumption and no defrosting.
