How we rate.

We do not trial devices ourselves, either under controlled conditions or in everyday use. Every rating on MiniHaushalt.de rests on verifiable data and an editorial assessment, in the same four steps.

1

Manufacturer data sheets

We take dimensions, consumption, noise level, capacities and connection values from the official data sheets and manuals, not from advertising copy. Contradictory or faulty marketplace information is corrected against the manufacturer source.

2

Amazon catalogue data

Price, availability, variants and the manufacturer description come from the official Amazon interface, each with a retrieval date. We deliberately do not use star ratings or customer reviews, because we cannot check them independently.

3

Editorial assessment

Data alone does not say who a device suits. We rate every model in the context of small flats: footprint, noise in the bedroom, electricity costs, suitability for renters (no drilling or fixed connection) and value for money, and we say clearly who it is worth it for and who it is not.

4

Availability check

We only include devices that are currently regularly available. Every linked ASIN is checked directly before publication; models that cannot be ordered or have been discontinued are dropped, even if they would have rated well.

⌗ Our score

What the rating of X/10 means.

The score sums up how well a device does its job in a small household. It is an overall editorial judgement without fixed weighting, formed from the criteria of the assessment above: footprint and dimensions, performance data according to the data sheet, noise level, power consumption and running costs, suitability for renters, and value for money compared with the alternatives in the same category. It is not a measured value from controlled conditions and says nothing about durability in long-term use.

9,0 – 10

Top class. Fulfils its purpose outstandingly, a clear buying recommendation with only minor reservations.

8,0 – 8,9

Very good. A strong choice for most people, with named compromises that do not bother everyone.

7,0 – 7,9

Good with a clear profile. Worth it for a specific use or a tight budget.

Independence & funding.

MiniHaushalt.de is funded through affiliate links: if you buy a product through one of our marked links (for example to Amazon), we receive a small commission. The price stays exactly the same for you.

This commission has no influence on which products we include, how we rate them or what order a comparison is in. We accept no money for ratings, placements or recommendation titles. Which device we recommend is decided solely by how well it suits a small household.

All affiliate links are labelled as such (rel="sponsored nofollow"). Prices and availability change constantly, and the price in the shop at the time of your purchase is always the binding one. You can find details in the affiliate disclosure (in German).

Seydhan Cakmak

Founder & editor-in-chief

Seydhan founded MiniHaushalt.de because reliable buying advice for compact devices was missing, as most guides target full-size households. Here the small household is the focus: single flat, tiny home, rented flat, camping. Every recommendation is editorially checked and follows the method described above.
